Distance Learning

Message from the Superintendent

Dear Mother Lode Families:

As you know the decision has been made that we will be providing Distance Learning for the remainder of the school year. We are moving to the next phase of our Distance Learning program. Our teachers have been busy getting ready to launch Distance Learning to support your children’s learning through the end of our school year.

Distance learning

  • Teachers will communicate with students and parents no less than two times a week.
  • Google Classroom is the platform by which teachers will deliver instruction.
  • Currently online instructional resources will continue to be used.
  • The District continues to make Chromebooks available to students through a check out system.  Families are requested to complete a Google Form Request.

Instructional Material Pick-up for all at Indian Creek Only

  • Chromebooks and hard copy packets that were not previously picked up can be on: Tuesday, April 14 and Thursday, April 16 between 11 am and 1 pm.
  • PLEASE make arrangement with teachers as to when you plan to pick up the consumable materials, such as workbooks. Teachers will prepare them and have them ready for pick up on the day requested only. If you don’t request, they materials will not be ready for pick up.

Grading

  • Students will earn Pass or No Pass for the third trimester Students will earn Pass or No Pass for the third trimester and to include only engagement, participation and work from April 13- June 4. It is not the intent of the District to retain students at a higher rate as in typical in accordance with Board Policy/Administrative Regulation 5123.
  • We strongly encourage all students to participate to their greatest extent possible.
  • Teachers will communicate their expectations regarding how they wish to grade/provide feedback on the paper packets distributed between March 17 – April 3.

Eighth Grade Promotion

  • The District anticipates promoting all 8th graders to high school and is considering available options for hosting an eighth grade promotion ceremony/celebration and will waive current District promotion requirements.
  • More information about plans for a promotion ceremony/celebration will be made available at a future date.

Nutrition Services

  • The District will provide meals during our school closure to ensure the nutritional well-being of our students while at home. 
  • The District will be distributing free breakfast and lunch bagged meals via a pick-up service, no meals will be consumed on-site. No paperwork or I.D. is required. Please visit the District website for the meal distribution schedule.

Change of Contact Information

  • If your address, phone number, or email address changes, please update your information through the AERIES Parent Portal, or call your child’s school and leave the new information on the voicemail.
  • We want to be sure we can communicate with you.
